How We Can Help

We Are Life Savers

At the heart of our mission are the animals themselves, receiving a second chance through our dedication. In Brisbane, dogs and cats under our care or in our life-saving centers receive the essential love, medical attention, and training they need to find their forever homes. Moreover, we implement programs across Brisbane aimed at preventing pets from entering shelters and ensuring those that do find homes more swiftly.

Pet Adoption

With numerous dogs and cats in Brisbane shelters each year needing homes—and too many not surviving simply because they are overlooked—we believe there is no reason to buy from breeders or pet stores. Furry Friends of Brisbane is committed to making adoption an accessible and positive experience for everyone involved.

Foster Programs

We work with local shelters to support the growth of emerging foster programs and emphasize the vital role fostering plays in the welfare of community pets. Our Foster Programs Playbook, packed with guidance on building a strong foster network, is available for free to help organizations keep foster participants engaged in our shared no-kill mission.

Spay/Neuter Services

By promoting accessible and affordable spay/neuter services, we strive to reduce the number of unwanted litters that end up in shelters. Furry Friends of Brisbane supports spay/neuter initiatives throughout the city and provides low-cost services through our centers.

Community Cat Programs

We call them community cats: free-roaming felines in Brisbane that, if left unchecked, significantly increase shelter euthanasia rates. Through our humane trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNVR) program, we are curtailing the influx of numerous litters into shelters, ensuring these cats return to their communities in better health and sterilized.

Collaboration is at the heart of our mission. By partnering with other animal welfare organizations, we are developing innovative lifesaving methods that are transforming how Brisbane cares for and protects its homeless pets.
